Most of my work on ‘Love’s Labour’s Lost’ consisted of compiling historical research upon the director’s request before presenting that to the cast in a digestible, easy-to-understand slideshow.

With the rich history that ‘Love’s Labour’s Lost’ has, my glossary was really the touchstone of my dramaturgy for this production. Despite the show beginning rehearsals in spring 2025, I began working on this glossary during the summer break of 2024.

Since this was my first experience as a production dramaturg, this was also my first time writing a dramaturgy program note! After many discussions with the director, we landed on this note that perfectly encapsulated our production’s unique approach to the themes of ‘Love’s Labour’s Lost.’
